HOMES in the Leigh Road area of Atherton were without electricity for seven hours after development site workers damaged a cable.
Residents around the Leigh Road area, near Atherton town centre, were blacked out from just after 3pm until 10.15pm last Thursday.
A United Utilities spokesman said they apologised to the householders affected and said the damage had been as repaired as quickly as possible.
Linden Avenue resident Clifford Cook said: "Homes around Linden Avenue, Liscard Street, Lambeth Street and Leighton Street were affected as well as Leigh Road. I've thrown away the contents of my freezer -- I'm not chancing eating anything that has been defrosting for seven hours."
