LONGSANDS Community Association are asking Preston Borough Council to look at the safety issue in crossing Eastway at the Anderton Way roundabout.
Several residents have voiced concerns after near misses with vehicles coming down Anderton Way. The on-coming vehicles cannot be seen until you are in the middle of the road, meaning the safe stopping distance of 120ft becomes a nonsense.
The council are possibly looking at cutting back shrubs and trees but the question was asked 'How many people walk down Eastway and have to cross the road?' Therefore, I am looking for support from the public. Do you or your family walk up and down Eastway, perhaps to Asda, or the hospitals or to school or place of work?
Have you had trouble crossing? Do you think it could be improved both ways? Remember, there is strength in numbers so please drop me a line at the address below.
