BECKY White completed this season's indoor programme on Saturday by winning the triple jump at the British Universities Halifax Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

After an eight hour journey from Bath, former Blackburn Harrier Becky managed only two hours sleep, but the Great Britain International was still far too good for her opponents.

She jumped 12.15m to give her a sixth victory in little more than a week and also helped the Bath girls to third in the 4 x 200m relay.

The week before she had competed twice at Cardiff, first winning the 60m, long jump and triple jump in the annual Bath versus University match before representing Great Britain Under 23's against Sweden, Germany and France.

Nowadays she is concentrating on the triple jump and has flirted with the idea of giving up the long jump altogether, but that could be on hold as she set a PB of 5.89m as she won both jumps.

Hyndburn's Anna Griffiths and Louise Dickinson of Park High School AC were also competing indoors - in the Norwich Union AAA's Championships at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.

For Louise, the Championship was a stepping stone towards full fitness following illness and injury, and to reach the semi-finals in the 60m and 300m were pleasing for the first year under 17.

Anna had qualified in four events but passed on the 800m only to find that her chosen options, the 200m, 60m hurdles and shot were all on the same day.

Still she managed to set two PB's, 28.04 in the 200m and 9.67 in the 60m hurdles with her performance in the hurdles carrying her through to the semis. In the shot the under 15 finished ninth.
