THE final Mid Lancs League Cross Country League fixture is at Lancaster University on Saturday. Races start at 12:30pm for the under 11 girls and the under 11 boys are off 15 minutes later.
The under 13 girls run at 1pm while at 1:20pm the under 15 girls and under 13 boys start together.
At 1:40pm the under 17 women set off with the under15 boys, and at 2pm the under 20 women, senior women and under 17 men come under orders. The final races for the under 20 and senior men is at 2:30pm.
The Felldancer Noon Stone Fell Race at Todmorden fittingly starts at noon on Saturday. Nine miles long and including 2300' of ascent it starts at the Top Brink Inn at GR956236.
An alternate offering for fell runners is the Bleasdale Circle, which sets off from Bleasdale Parish Hall at 11am on Saturday. It is five miles with1250' of climb, but race entries are limited to 100 runners. Call Leslie Orr on 01253-852368.
Sunday's Hyndburn 10K promoted by Accrington Road Runners is over a mix of trail and road. Registration is at Wilsons Playing Field, Clayton Le Moors where there are parking, changing and showering facilities. A Fun Run at 9:30am is a prelude to the main event at 10am.
The St Annes 10M Road Race is at 2pm on Sunday. Registration is at St Annes Fire Station on St Andrews Road North where there are changing facilities and limited shower facilities.
For hardened Orienteers there is the New Chew organised by Saddleworth Runners Club. The Long course is 17 miles with the winning time over four hours, the Short is 12 miles and over three hours, and there is a Score event with a three hour limit.The start is from Greenfield Sailing Club, Dovestones Reservoir, Saddleworth and you will need the Dark Peak 1:25000 Outdoor Leisure Map (New Edition). Rossendale Harriers are holding their Annual Presentation Evening tomorrow at the Sports and Social Club at Marl Pits from 7:30pm.
