STAND'S home match against Colne at Ewood Bridge last Saturday once again fell foul of the bad weather, a heavy waterlogged pitch being the problem.
Last Tuesday's home match against Padiham suffered a similar fate.
Tomorrow Latics make their shortest trip of the season when they visit local rivals Bacup Borough. This should prove to be a highly-entertaining and hotly-contested local derby.
League positions will mean nothing with local pride at stake and the form book will be thrown out of the window.
Stand will stand by the squad that beat Darwen 4-2 in their last game, with centre back Steve Davis's ankle injury the only concern.
The enforced rest last Saturday should see Davis fit enough to face Brent Peters' side. It will also have given Micky Wolstenholme his chance to stake a claim, as he is added to the squad.
On Tuesday night, Alsager Town make their fourth attempt to play at Ewood Bridge. The Cheshire side were in the running to make a stiff challenge throughout most of the season, but have suffered a number of poor results recently. However, they are still a well-organised and dangerous side.
Kick-off for this match is 7.45pm and Saturday's clash with Bacup is 3pm at Westview. All details on 07950-102307.
