THE road to a Bury FC fans trust appears to be turning into a dual carriageway with TWO meetings now planned to discuss supporters' initiatives.
It's expected to be a packed house at the Elizabethan Suite, Bury Town Hall tonight when BASE (Bury FC's Alternative Supporters Enterprise) hold their public meeting for all Shakers fans.
Representatives from a number of interested parties are expected to be in attendance when the latest takeover situation at the club will be discussed.
Top of the agenda will be a supporters' stakeholder initiative which BASE hope will help both the long and short term future of the club.
The group insist that this initiative should not deter Shakers fans from continuing to contribute to the Save Our Shakers appeal.
A second supporters trust scheme, backed by Bury Football Club itself, is also in the pipeline and a meeting for that, also at the Elizabethan Suite, has been arranged for 7.30pm on Friday, March 8.
This initiative is backed and supported by Supporters Direct, a government initiative, funded by public money.
Supporters Direct have already helped 46 Supporters Trusts to be set up including the ongoing ones at Chesterfield, York City and Lincoln City.
Bury FC joint chairman said: "After being advised by Supporters Direct that they are in a position to help launch a Bury FC Supporters Trust we feel this is the way we should proceed and is the only initiative we will be backing."
Doors open at tonight's meeting from 7pm and supporters are urged to get in early as a limit of 400 people has been agreed.
