FURTHER medical enquiries are being made following the death of a man in hospital after he collapsed at his home in Radcliffe.
Jobless window fitter George Frederick Renshaw (33) was found on the floor of his bedroom by his stepfather on February 16 and taken to the accident and emergency department of Fairfield General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An inquest into Mr Renshaw's death heard that it was believed he may have overdosed on drugs prescribed to another member of the household.
Evidence of identification was given to Bury District Coroner Barrie Williams by Mr Renshaw's mother, Marjorie Fletcher, of Lever Street.
Coroner's officer Geoff Cave said it was established that Mr Renshaw was in his bedroom when the rest of the family heard a bang from that direction.
Mr Renshaw was found collapsed on the floor, and the emergency services were called. Mr Cave said a post-mortem had been carried out but samples had been sent for toxicological examination.
There was no third party involvement in the death.
The coroner adjourned the hearing pending the outcome of further medical enquiries.
