BLACKBURN boss Graeme Souness today promised an all-out offensive for tomorrow's vital six-pointer with Bolton at the Reebok.
Fresh from delivering the club's first major Cup triumph in 74 years, Souness will now go in search of the points required to guarantee Rovers' Premiership survival.
And he plans to go straight for the jugular against Wanderers in what he has billed as the biggest game for the club since he took charge nearly two years ago.
"This is our biggest game of the season so far, without a doubt.
"It is probably our biggest game since I took over at the club," said Souness.
"Last Sunday was a fantastic occasion for everyone connected with Rovers but this is even bigger because we are playing the team immediately above us in the league.
"And if we want to stay in the Premiership then these are the games we have to win so there's no way we'll be going there attempting to play for a draw.
"We don't have the players to go there and try and hold out for 90 minutes so we will be approaching it as we'd approach any other game in terms of the fact we'll be going there to win.
"I want the players to be able to express themselves because I believe that's our strength as a team.
"We are a lot better going forward than we are defending and, on our day, I believe there's only Arsenal and Manchester United who are better than us at going forward in this league.
"So this game is right up there with any you'd care to mention at any point over the last two seasons, like when we needed to win at Preston last season or the derby game over at Burnley.
"And I firmly believe we can win it."
Rovers have plummeted down the table on the back of 10 defeats from their last 12 games.
But Sunday's Worthington Cup victory over Spurs in Cardiff has lifted everyone at Ewood and Souness hopes to use that as a launchpad for the run-in.
"As far as I was concerned, there was nothing wrong with the spirit in the camp before Sunday's game," said Souness.
"But what Sunday's result has given us is that bit of extra confidence we've perhaps been missing over the last few weeks.
"However, we've now got to look to the future rather than to what's happened in the past.
"Sunday was a fantastic occasion and no-one can take away from us what we achieved in Cardiff.
"But the reality is we are still in the bottom three and we need to start winning games quickly if we want to get ourselves out of this predicament."
Bolton boast a four-point cushion over Rovers and a victory for them at the Reebok would put clear daylight between themselves and the bottom three.
And Souness is certainly not taking their threat for granted.
"You've got to have respect for what Bolton have done," said Souness.
"Sam Allardyce has done a brilliant job there, especially considering the resources he's had to work on.
"And, though they might play a slightly different style to us, you can't help but respect what they are all about."
Leading scorer Michael Ricketts is likely to pose the biggest threat to Rovers' survival hopes and Souness admits he is a big admirer of the Bolton hit-man.
"Michael Ricketts has had a pheomenal season with them and he's been a revelation ever since he's been there," said Souness.
"To score the amount of goals he has and break into the England team in his debut season in the Premiership is a fantastic achievement.
"I like the look of him as a player and his power and pace will cause any defence a problem.
"So he's one we'll need to keep a particularly close eye on tomorrow because he carries their main threat up front."
Souness will be boosted by the return of skipper Garry Flitcroft who is back after a three game ban.
But Craig Short, Tugay and Lucas Neill are still out through suspension.
Rovers are also hoping to push through the signing of Turkish international Hakan Unsal in time to feature in the squad after the 28-year-old was granted a work perm,it yesterday.
However, they needed to receive international clearance by noon today in order for that to be possible.
Rovers are expected to choose from: Friedel, Curtis, Taylor, Bjornebye, Berg, Johansson, Flitcroft, Dunn, Duff, Gillespie, Jansen, Cole, Yordi, Hughes, Hignett, Mahon, Unsal, Miller.
The club is reminding fans travelling to the game that the M6 juncton at Salmesbury is closed.
