CONSERVATIONISTS in Nelson have been flocking to Victoria Park to help make bird shelters.
Park Ranger David Procter organised the bird box making workshops at Victoria Park, Nelson.
The workshop was held on Sunday where helpers put together 12 boxes for the trees in the park.
Mr Procter said: "It was one of the first events that we have arranged in the park and it went really well.
"The turn out was better than I expected especially because the weather was so bad.
"And despite the weather everybody got on with the work and did an exceptional job."
