PADIHAM'S players saw one of the worst sights in non-League football at Holker last week - a fellow player breaking his leg.
Holker's Mike Brown had only just returned to the side after injury when he went in for a tackle with the Storks' Jamie Edmonson after half an hour.
Padiham were 1-0 up and well on top of the game but Brown's broken leg caused a 40-minute break in play which upset the visitors' rhythm and they ended up drawing the game 1-1.
"We played half an hour, had a 40-minute stop in play, played 14 minutes and then had another break for half-time," said manager Graham Howarth.
"And obviously it is awful for the players to see another player breaking their leg in a football game."
Padiham travel to Chadderton in NWCL Division Two tomorrow just weeks after beating the Oldham side 5-2 at home.
"It was an entertaining game so hopefully tomorrow's will be too," said Howarth.
Carl Parker is out with an ankle injury picked up at Alsager and striker Lee Chambers is still out with ankle ligament damage. He has yet to make his 'debut' after his return to the club from UniBond first division Kendal Town.
