STAND have re-signed Dave Channon from Nelson.
Stand boss Nick Davies lost the defender to the Blues earlier in the season after the player picked up an injury.
He signed Billy McCartney but since his move to first division Salford City, Davies has been light at the back.
"Signing Dave back has helped that, which is unfortunate for Nelson," he said.
Stand face local rivals Bacup tomorrow in NWCL Division Two.
"They are one of the few teams I haven't seen this season. They have only lost five games out of 20 so but they have only won five. They obviously have a good defence."
Bacup manager Brent Peters is disappointed not to be able to play Stand with his better and more experienced players in the side.
Julian Dowe (cartilage), Wayne McKenzie (hamstring) and former Stand player Karl Stanley (foot) are all out.
"I believe we'd be as good if not better than Stand with a full-strength side but we have an inexperienced side.
"It's not that we are not going to stand up to the test but it's a good test and I am looking forward to seeing how far these younger players have come on.
"If we'd won last Tuesday we could have gone 12th and that's the way it is at the moment. There is only Leek CSOB that have played less games than us and we have a lot of games to play.
"It is important to finish as high as possible because some teams who are going for second place won't go up because of their grounds."
