I WOULD offer my sympathies to the tenant of Animal Magic in the Mill Gate shopping centre ("Shop rent rockets", Bury Times, Feb 1).
As an existing tenant on Minden Parade it worries me that the developers of the Mill Gate centre are seemingly forcing out businesses which have been established over a good number of years. How on earth is a business to survive with such inflated and extortionate rents? Maybe Westfield want to fill the units with 'phone shops, sports shops and card shops as if we didn't have enough already!
I would appeal to the people of Bury to save their shopping centre. Voice your opinions to the centre manager demanding more individuality in the choice of shops in the Mill Gate, and let's give the existing shops a chance to survive.
