COULD drivers who do not have young children or babies with them on shopping trips, please not park in "parent and child" spaces.
Asda Pilsworth and the multi-storey car park in Bury are the worst locations for this sort of inconsiderate parking. I have even seen Asda staff, in uniform, parking in these designated areas.
Asda advise disabled drivers to use these spaces if essential, so does that mean that parents with children can use disabled spaces? I don't think so? Disabled drivers would be the first to complain!
The multi-storey presents another great struggle. What is it that attracts drivers to these reserved spaces? Is it because they are on the ground floor and it is too much trouble for them to push a button for the lift?
One day they may genuinely require either a disabled or a parent and child space, but there won't be any available. Perhaps then they will realise how annoying it is for those who need to use them now.
