HYNDBURN church leaders will meet before dawn on Monday. Nothing new.

It's been happening every week for months.

Hectic diaries mean rising before the birds -- the only slot all ministers are free.

And why not? Why should leaders lie-in when the community they serve is at war.

It's a battle with a difference. No daisy-cutter bombs here. Deadlier weapons pock-mark society with demolished relationships, rubbish-strewn chaos and odd riots in playgrounds and places.

Teens jab themselves with coke. Scared parents agonise. All ages spend millions on distractions, creating the biggest debt, drug and alcohol crisis in living memory. Which brings us to ministers missing Monday morning lie-ins. Put simply, they're waking up for a miracle!

They know Westminster is throwing millions at our deprivation. It's a help. They know that community workers are flat out, and that there's been an influx of regeneration experts.

They know disintegrating communities have doubled their own workload hence the early-bird prayers.

Now, at last, a new knowledge is dawning: The war being waged for the soul of our community will not be won with millions alone.

Peace will only break out when individual souls begin to be changed. And that's where the miracle comes in.

Dozens of community transformations have happened worldwide as locals get serious with God. It's getting so famous they're turning the stories into videos.

Care to help? Couldn't be a better time than Lent, a period for self-analysis and spiritual action.

Why not put in your tuppence worth with the Almighty? No need to go pre-dawn. Just tune in anytime, anywhere and often.

God waits to see if we mean business before he does his.
