A TRAINEE florist made a blooming good impression on judges when she took part in a horticultural competition.
Charlotte Konieczny , 21, scooped a bronze medal in the North West Interflora competition.
And the trainee, from Rosegrove, in Burnley is not the only one celebrating after her colleagues also scooped top awards.
Charlotte, who works at Going Dutch in Kierby Walk, Burnley, joined colleagues from the chain's Nelson branch at the competition last weekend.
Manager of the Nelson shop Ken Watson and his wife Janet also scooped awards, while Janet is waiting to hear if she will win the regional title and go through to a national final later this year.
Charlotte has been working a trainee florist for eight months.
Charlotte entered the under 23-year-olds category. She had to go through six heats before being awarded third place for her planted arrangement which she set out for a technology seminar.
The arrangement was compiled of from orchids and contorted willows.
Charlotte received a certificate and £25 in recognition of her hard work.
She said: "I was delighted with a bronze medal. I worked really hard on the arrangement. I am aiming high and hope to get a gold medal next year."
Charlotte's colleagues who work at the Going Dutch branch in Nelson also entered the regional Interflora competition and came out with impressive awards.
Ken finished second and third in the final heat of the Interflora Florist of the Year in the North West while his wife Janet is waiting to see if she has won the overall winner's award.
She would then go through to represent the region at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show in July.
Janet added: "My fingers are crossed because it's very close -- Tatton Park would be a fantastic experience but nerve-wracking since the competition is live in front of the show's visitors."
