AN MP is calling for the people of Pendle to take action to help their environment by converting their cars from petrol to LPG.
Pendle MP Gordon Prentice, who is renowned for his campaigning over Green issues, is asking his constituents to consider changing to Liquefied Petroleum Gas.
He said: "Motorists are converting to cleaner fuels at an increasing rate and they are now estimated to be around 50,000 LPG cars in the country.
"In Pendle there are a growing number of petrol stations supplying this fuel and the easier it is for motorists to fill their tanks, the more people are likely to convert in the future."
The number of conversions is expected to increase by about 25,000 over the next year, prompted by the Government grants available and low-cost LPG, available in stations across Pendle.
