HOW'S this for a Bury team to take on Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday?

Paddy Kenny, Matt Barrass, Steve Redmond, Nicky Hill, Danny Swailes, Lee Unsworth; Chris Billy, Jason Jarrett, Paul O'Shaughnessy; Baichung Bhutia, Ian Lawson. . . not a bad side, eh?

Well don't build your hopes up Shakers fans, that's a starting eleven that Andy Preece WON'T be sending into action at Adams Park due to injuries and suspensions!

Add to those major doubts about midfielders Martyn Forrest and Paul Reid and it spells a massive selection headache for the Shakers boss.

"That team would have a good chance at Wycombe but in reality we'll just have to wait and see how things look on Saturday morning!" he said.

"On Tuesday night Stoke could bring in Dion Burton and Arnar Gunnlaugsson when they were struggling while we just have to look in the reserves or youth team for our replacements.

"Lee Unsworth (thigh) is 90 per cent certain to be missing with Jason Jarrett (hip) not far behind him.

"Both Fozzy (shin) and Reidy (groin) are struggling but have better chances than the other two."

That leaves only David Borley, who has been struggling with a groin strain of his own, from the regular midfield performers, so Matt Murphy could get a recall after a couple of run outs in the the reserves.

Even young midfielder Steve Gunby, who might have expected a call-up, is injured so the likelihood is George Clegg may be asked to do a job in the engineroom.

"Cleggy has played all over the field for us and never let's us down wherever he turns out," added Preece.

"He's a reliable lad and has done really well in recent weeks."

Glynn Garner gets a recall to the goalkeeping spot with Paddy Kenny suspended for two games.

And Preece reckons Kenny should thank his understudy for keeping him under the kind of pressure that ensures the Bury number one keeps his shirt.

"Paddy's good performances are down to the pressure Glynn is putting on him, I'm sure," said Preece.

"Glynn did well in the games he deputised when Paddy was suspended earlier in the season.

"I have no worries about playing him. His kicking is good, his talking is good and he's a good shot stopper.

"He's pushing for a first team place all the time and I'm convinced that's the reason Paddy has been in such good form."

Wycombe will be without midfield ace Michael Simpson, who is serving a two-match ban.

Leading scorer Andy Rammell, the striker who always seems to score against the Shakers and who has hit 12 goals so far this season, is out for the rest of the campaign with an ankle injury.

However, loan signing David Tuttle is almost certain to feature at the heart of the Wanderers defence.

The former Tottenham Hotspur defender was brought in after the Chairboys let in four goals in the game against Blackpool recently. They also have three of their four centre backs unavailable.

Wycombe go into the game against Bury on the back of two home defeats, the reverse against Blackpool and a 2-0 beating by high-riding Reading in midweek.

Prior to that setback, they had managed 10 home wins all season and just the one defeat at Adams Park.

The Bury boss will have to weigh up all his combinations before deciding his tactics on a ground that isn't the happiest hunting ground for the Shakers.

"Do we sit back and try and soak up the pressure then lose 1-0 in the last minute or have a go and try and win the game?" he added.

"On Tuesday we made the decision to go for it and it didn't work out but you have to be positive.

"We need to win games and there's no point just sitting back for a point.

"You have to look at the opposition and decide whether you attack them or suck them in and hit them on the break."
