WORK will begin in the spring on a community park in Stacksteads which has been upgraded over 11 years.
Members of Stacksteads Youth Club have been working on Rosemount Park, off Huttock End Lane, to enhance the area as an amenity for the community.
The group is now raising £3,000 to pay for the next stage of the project which will see footpaths completed to link in with a footbridge over the stream.
The project started with tree planting and youngsters involved got to grips with cleaning up the area and filled three skips full of litter.
Groundwork Rossendale helped out to build a path and the youth club members then dug out a pond on the site.
Fences were built round the area, shrubs and wild flowers have been planted and a path has been built around the pond.
The youth club is currently applying for grants to help to fund the work and already money has been received from Stacksteads Riverside Park Group and it is hoped Groundwork may also help.
