IT may be the end of the ice hockey league season but Blackburn Hawks aren't ready to drop sticks just yet.
For the Arena aces face a challenge match against Kingston Jets tomorrow night - and player-coach Bobby Haig insists that every game counts.
"The pressure's off now the league has finished but we still want to do ourselves credit and win, especially since we haven't managed to beat them this season," explained the wily Scot.
"Finishing fifth in the league was disappointing for us as we know we can do better - our performances in the last few games have shown that.
"We have played some excellent hockey - including a 25-0 thrashing of the Birmingham Rockets - showing just what we are capable of when we put our minds to it.
"Keeping up that good standard will put us in good stead for next season and challenge matches like these give the up and coming youngsters a chance to play. Let's hope we can prove ourselves against Kingston and give them a scare for next season!"
The Arena doors are open from 5.15 pm for the 6pm face off against the Jets.
