REGARDING the proposed closing of more homes for the elderly, the two in Blackburn which closed recently were suppoed to be losing £10,000 a week each, and yet had been refurbished, redecorated and new carpets fitted.
The value of each home was approximately £150,000.
Why were they auctioned in London and not in Lancashire and how much were they sold for?
How many of the residents survived the disruption of losing their homes and friends for a second time?
When you reach 65 you are no longer of any use to the country, only a liability costing at least £5,000 per person per year.
And if you are lucky enough to reach the age of 80, you get 25p extra on your state pension. I can't wait.
