MY partners and I are delighted that Ron O'Keeffe (snr) took the trouble to pour praise upon our refurbishment project in historical Fleming Square, Blackburn (Letters, February 14).
Many thousands of hours have been spent on this dream in order to get it off the ground, knowing as we do that Fleming Square is a vital catalyst to the promotion of Blackburn's heritage corridor.
Our insistence that local skilled tradesmen be used has meant that the regeneration ethic has directly benefited the economy of the town.
With luck and the continued support of the Regeneration department (some of whom have also had to burn the candle at both ends), we shall create many new jobs in this special enclave of the town.
Praise such as this is always welcome, no matter which end of the political spectrum it comes from.
JEFFREY STONE, Fleming Square, Blackburn.
