I AGREE with all the letters about the treatment of the elderly in this county and country. It is an absolute disgrace.
These people have lived, worked and paid into the system all their lives.
Many of them fought for us all to live in freedom and this is the treatment they receive; herded about like cattle.
It is time this country put its own people first instead of handing everything to asylum seekers who have done nothing for us except take our money and then repay us by burning down the Yarl's Wood detention centre, which no doubt will be rebuilt at a cost of millions. It is time for the ordinary, decent people of this country to make the councillors and government sit up and get their priorities right and that is to treat the elderly with the respect they deserve.
Just remember, we'll all be in the same position someday.
