NEIGHBOURS living in an area plagued by troublesome teenagers have been invited to attend regular police surgeries as part of a major crackdown.

Local residents in the Trinity district of Burnley are being asked to take part in the surgeries organised by community beat bobby PC Adam Gordon.

Police have recently carried out a crackdown on juvenile nuisance problems in Trinity

The surgeries will start at Vanguard Community centre on Wednesday and be held between 6 and 7.30pm. They will then be held at the same place and time every third Wednesday.

Surgeries will also be held every three weeks at the Holy Trinity parish rooms in Raglan Road, starting on Monday, March 18, between 6.30 and 7.30pm.

PC Gordon said he had decided to hold the two sets of surgeries in order to give residents every chance to air their views and discuss any concerns they may have.

He added: "In order for me to address the area's problems I need people to come forward and tell me their worries and concerns which is why I want to hold regular surgeries in the local community.

"They will allow people to talk to me about their neighbourhood and find out what myself and other officers are planning to do about the problems."

He said he had tried to pick the most suitable days and times so that residents could pop in to see him after work.

PC Gordon said: "If people can't make it to the surgeries, they can always stop me when I'm on patrol or give me a call in confidence on my direct line which is 01282 472962.

"I urge local residents to come along to the first surgery and get to know me. Their co-operation is imperative if I am to make real inroads into any local crime nuisance and disorder problems they may have."
