GLEN Little will be out for a minimum of two weeks following his sickening collision against Norwich City at the weekend.

But the fact that Burnley's next home game is against Preston North End a week on Sunday means that he may only miss this week's trips to Walsall and Stockport County.

"I saw him yesterday and he has got one eye closed, the other is bruised and his mouth is cut so he is a bit of a mess," admitted manager Stan Ternent who was one of the first on the pitch to check on his player on Saturday.

The Clarets winger was down and out for eight minutes after an accidental clash with Canaries left back Darren Kenton.

There was huge concern both on and off the pitch as he was stretchered off.

Manager Stan Ternent confirmed that he did come round and was able to answer questions from the medical team.

He added: "He was taken to hospital before being discharged on Saturday night.

"But there is a mandatory two week spell when he is out of action so we hope he will be fit for the Preston game."

Some had suggested that the game should have been stopped altogether after the clash but Ternent felt it was the right thing to play on.

"I think we had to and he was alright, he had come round," he said.

It was the second time this season that Little had failed to finish the match against the Canaries.
