STANLEY took their run without a UniBond Premier League win to five games after a goalless draw in the North East - and had a man sent off.
Midfielder David Robinson was dismissed in injury time for an off-the-ball incident in a fierce encounter at the Gateshead International Stadium.
The Reds were forced on the defensive for periods in the game with chances few and far between but they did have opportunities to take all three points.
They arguably had the better of things in the first half where the game was littered with fouls and free kicks.
But Gateshead's Rob Jones was in top form at the back helped by young keeper Sam Russell.
Robinson went into the book on 62 minutes after a foul on Gateshead skipper Steve Preen.
And then the North East side had the first real chance of note.
Alderson forced a good save out of Reds keeper Jamie Speare and then left back Barrie Hart had to clear for a corner.
From the resultant flag kick Alderson again had a chance but Hart this time hacked the ball off the line after a deflection.
Robinson then had chances to win it for Stanley forcing a high save with a 45-yard blockbuster from Russell on 79 minutes but he was soon to turn from hero to villain.
With five minutes of injury time on the clock, there was jostling in the Gateshead box as Stanley waited to take a free kick. Robinson - who was returning after suspension - was alleged to have hit Kitchen and 'Robbo' was shown a straight red as both sides struggled to break the deadlock.
One plus point for Sanley was the debut of new boy And Proctor in midfield. The youngster, signed from Great Harwood, came on for Robbie Williams in the second half.
