FRIDAY'S (March 1) news that Bury Football Club had gone into administration changed the agenda when BASE (Bury's Alternative Supporters Enterprise) held a public meeting at Bury Town Hall's Elizabethan Suite.
What was initially a get together to launch BASE's supporters stakeholder initiative turned into a very positive question and answer session with two of the administrators, Mike Hore and Matthew Dunham.
Shakers joint chairman Fred Mason was also on the top table along with BASE spokesmen, Lee Devenport, Gary Corcoran and Chris Bainbridge.
The assembled audience of around 200 fans were informed of the Buy A Seat To Save The Club Appeal and plenty of other fund-raising ideas were raised in a bid to secure the short term safety of the Shakers.
Prospective buyer Beau was also on hand to explain his plans for the Nearly Red Management takeover and spoke to the administrators before leaving at the interval.
Organiser Lee Devenport reckoned the meeting was just what fans needed given the turbulent week at the club and said: "The key thing is that all Bury fans should now pull together and do anything they can to bring friends, family members or workmates down to the next two home games against Oldham tonight (Tues March 5) and Notts County on Saturday (March 9).
"It's vital we all play our part in securing the clubs existance."
