A FAMILY man who has just taken over an historic Yorkshire hotel did all his groundwork in Lancashire.
Stewart Rushton, 32, originally of Queen Victoria Road, Burnley, has been made manager of the 56-room Beverley Arms Hotel in Beverley, East Yorkshire.
But despite his move across the Pennines he said his introduction to the hotel trade came from Lancashire.
He did a hotel management course at Nelson and Colne College and worked at the Fence Gate Inn, Fence, and the Cellar Restaurant in Padiham.
Before moving to Beverley, Mr Rushton worked at the Telford Golf and Country Club, first as deputy manager then as general manager.
He is married to Heather and has a son and daughter aged one and six months. His mother still lives in Burnley and his in-laws in Nelson.
