POOL failed to continue their recent spell of good form away from home as QPR score in each half without reply to take the points.

The failure by Pool to score was in the end, more disappointing than the two goals they conceded at the other end.

For it had seemed the combination of strikers Walker, Murphy and Taylor was beginning to show some consistently in front of goal which has often made up for the defences vulnerability at the back.

In fact, the trio up front failed to record a single shot on target, mostly thanks to the work of former Tangerine favourite Danny Shittu, who made his first appearance against Pool since joining QPR at the start of the season.

Blackpool didnt start badly though, beginning the match well and evenly matched the home side in the opening 10 minutes.

However it was QPR who had the first real chance on 12 minutes when Richard Pacquette was just beaten to a Steve Palmer cross by Pool keeper Phil Barnes.

Pool only clear-cut opportunity of the first half came to Scott Taylor, a long-range shot from him came close shaving the QPR post.

But the opener came for QPR just a few minutes later. After Phil Barnes had parried an initial shot the ball wasnt sufficiently cleared from Pool and Kevin Gallen smashed home from inside the box.

QPR were far better than Pool in the second half.

The Seasiders failed to show any magic after the break and rarely threatened the QPR defence.

And when QPR scored a second on the hour mark, the points were just about in the bag for the home side.

The goal itself came after Pool crippled under pressure from a string of QPR corners. Mark Langley was the scorer with an excellent volleyed strike from outside the box.

Pool remain just about comfortable above the drop zone but Steve McMahon will breath more easy if his team can take advantage of a run of up-and-coming home fixtures at Bloomfield Road.
