TURF Moor's battle scarred pitch will come under the microscope again tonight when the reserves welcome West Bromwich Albion for a rearranged fixture.
Clarets boss Stan Ternent was fiercely critical of the surface after the 1-1 draw with Norwich City at the weekend claiming it was detrimental to the attempts of his side to play a passing game.
Ronnie Jepson, reserve team manager, has always encouraged his teams to play in a similar way and it remains to be seen how they cope with the bobbles and bad bounces that disrupted the first team at the weekend.
Having seen the first team play last night, Jepson will not know who he can select from until a few hours before kick off but the game will offer several experienced players the chance to end a frustrating wait for action.
Several games have been postponed in the past few weeks, the latest against Preston North End last week, so the likes of Mitchell Thomas and Andy Payton will be eager to prove their fitness ahead of the final ruin in to the season.
Also a number of those on the bench at the Bescot Stadium last night could be included, notably £1million signing Robbie Blake and returning keeper Nik Michopoulos, as well promising young players such as Andrew Waine and Joel Pilkington.
The game will kick off at 7.15 and all supporters are welcome.
