STRUGGLING to get over the disappointment of Saturday's heartbreaking late exit from the FA Vase, Clitheroe were held to a draw by NWCL Division One bottom side Flixton.
And, to add injury to insult, Neil Reynolds and Stuart Todhunter both picked up knocks at a time when games are coming thick and fast. The pair will miss Clitheroe's next match at home to Atherton LR tomorrow.
But despite the negatives Blues player-boss Lee Sculpher was pleased with his side's display.
"Losing on Saturday was a massive blow and it will take a long time to get over it," he said. "But the attitude we showed was first class."
The Blues had two good penalty appeals waved away that, on another night, may have gone their way. But they took the lead on 25 minutes. A corner was half cleared to the edge of the area where Andy Cowking laid the ball into Chris Whittingham's path and he made no mistake.
But a minute after the restart Flixton levelled with a looping header from a corner.
Clitheroe coontinued to dominate proceedings and Neil Spencer had a couple of chances to restore the lead but couldn't find a way through.
