DAVID Moyes says he will not ask for David Healy to be released from the forthcoming Northern Ireland friendly clash with Liechtenstein.

Moyes has rested Healy in recent weeks because of his heavy workload for both club and country this season.

But the shock sale of Jon Macken to Manchester City has left Healy facing up to another extended run in the team until the end of the season, with little prospect of a rest.

Moyes, however, is refusing to call on Northern Ireland boss Sammy McIlroy to hand Healy a break from international action.

The North End boss said: "I would never ask for any of my players to be withdrawn from an international squad.
