POLICE are investigating the theft of over £11,000 of alloy wheels and tyres from a Longridge garage.
Thieves broke into a locked compound at Syd Brown and Sons Ltd in Berry Lane and stole 40 alloy wheels and a selection of MNH, Pirelli and Continental tyres and lock-in wheel nut sets from MG and Rover vehicles
The incident happened between 6.30pm on Sunday and 8am on Monday when the vehicles were discovered up on concrete blocks.
The theft follows a similar incident in Clitheroe in December when 23 alloy wheels and tyres, valued at £8,370, were stolen from 13 Ford vehicles at Rufus Carr Ltd, in Bawdlands.
Insp Bob Ford from Clitheroe police said similar thefts had also been carried out in Preston and Blackpool in recent weeks.
