THE Tate Gallery (www.tate.org.uk) has an extensive site online that allows you to view more than 8,000 images.
The entire collection can be found on the site, each work with its own information page, and you can search by subject, artist or more specific criteria.
If you are interested in how the Tate has acquired its collection over the last century, take a look at the special collections area to explore the various gifts and bequests.
Almost every work in the collection is illustrated and the Tate is adding images all the time, although some can't be viewed due to copyright issues.
You can also keep up-to-date with the latest works the Tate has acquired or had loaned during the last six months in the new acquisitions section.
