THREE Leigh Harriers have won selection to run in the English Schools cross-country championships at Chelmsford on Saturday.
The race is the most prestigious on the schools cross-country calendar.
Wigan schools' only representatives are all from Leigh Harriers. Gema Farley, the Great Manchester Junior girls champion, Adele Swanton and Lizzy Heaton.
The Harriers have a good record in the finals, consistently providing the majority of the Wigan schools' team over the last 10 years. During this period Greater Manchester's only winner in the schools' final was Leigh Harrier Peter Riley who won the intermediate boys title.
