ASTLEY & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare-CTA Direct Cycle Speedway Club are continuing to stage their twice weekly pre-season practice sessions throughout March.
Despite the wet and windy conditions throughout February, the track has stood up superbly to the conditions, with only one session out of eight having to be cancelled.
The club is looking to add to their squad of riders in readiness for the first match, which is at Leicester on Sunday, April 7 in the Midlands-North League Division Two.
The club has equipment available for hire at the nominal charge of £2 per training session. Sunday sessions run from 2pm to 4pm, with the Wednesday sessions held under floodlights between 7pm and 9pm. The cycle speedway track is located at the Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit, Astley.
The club welcomes riders of all ages, abilities and experience. We have never signed a British Champion, but we have trained new riders into British Champions!
Anybody requiring further details should telephone Mike Hack on 01942 515341 or by e-mail at m.hack@blueyonder.co.uk
The club now has a website up and running. This can be visited at sportloco.com/Clubs/ AstleyTyldesleyCycleSpeedwayClub
