HIGH kicks meet hi-tech this month as Blackpool Tower Ballroom takes part in a unique arts and dancing event to be transmitted live on the Internet.

The ten-piece Glyn Lloyd Dance Orchestra will play live music in the venue as two couples from Preston and Liverpool dance while being filmed by webcams for TV Swansong on March 20.

TV Swansong is one of eight events being held throughout the UK which has received funding from London Arts, the Scottish Arts Council and the Arts Council of England.

And 100 local people are being given the opportunity to take part in the worldwide web event.

Doors will be open to the public on March 20 from 11am to 5pm. Admission is £6.50 adults, £5 seniors and children.
