A TAXI-DRIVER was certified dead after he was found slumped at the wheel of his cab.
A group of children reported the grim discovery on Monday (March 4) at around 6pm. Mr Arthur Burnham (59), of Rectory Avenue in Prestwich, was discovered at the junction of Rectory Lane and Heywood Road and taken to North Manchester General Hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.
Mr Burnham is believed to be a former licensee of the Coach and Horses pub, in Bury Old Road, Whitefield, and turned to taxi driving after leaving the pub trade around ten years ago.
A post mortem revealed that Mr Burnham had suffered a heart attack.
