BOSSES of Radcliffe Borough FC are counting the cost of fire damage to their treatment room.
Fire broke out in the club's physiotherapy treatment room on Sunday night (March 3) with flames melting a pile of football kit.
A wall heater which had been inadvertently left on is believed to have sparked the small blaze.
The fire destroyed the plastic covered bench and the heat melted a small amount of kit.
A spokesman for the fire service, which was called out to the Stainton Park ground at 8.30pm on Sunday, said: "The burning bench and the melting kit created a lot of thick smoke which filled the prefab cabin.
"The fire damage was confined to the bench which had been smouldering for some time as a result of being left near to a wall heater."
