LEIGH RMI are likely to hand Jamie Udall and Steve Thompson their first league starts of the season on Saturday as they bid to extend their seven-match unbeaten run against Nuneaton Borough writes Martyn Hindley
Udall last played for the Railwaymen in October 2000 when he was carried off the pitch nursing ligament damage against Scarborough but the highly-rated player looks set to replace Gerry Harrison after the in-form defender limped out of Tuesday night's win over Stalybridge with a hamstring strain.
Ex-Wanderer Thompson illuminated that victory with some silky second half skills and he should make the starting line-up in place of Dave Ridings whose second hamstring injury in as many months ruled him out of next week's matches at the very least.
RMI will be hoping to move into the top half of the Nationwide Conference with victory over Nuneaton, whose return of just three victories from 15 games away from Manor Park is quite flimsy for a team of such talent.
Manager Steve Waywell said: "We need to concentrate on our own game and hopefully we can get the right result, especially considering the form that Ged Kielty has been in in the last 10 matches."
