A 14-YEAR-OLD Asian boy was assaulted by three white males in Nelson in what police have described as a racist attack.
The teenager, whose family have asked that he is not identified, was walking home along Railway Street at around 8.30pm on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said: "He was approached from behind by three white males who assaulted him. He was not badly injured and he managed to struggle free.
"We are treating it as a racist incident because of certain things that were said to the victim."
Anyone who saw the incident is asked to contact the police on 01282 472634.
