DARWEN welcome NWCL Division Two bottom club Castleton to the Anchor Ground hoping to carry on their charge up the table.

They have won their last three games and are looking to make an impression at the top of the league.

And their cause has been helped as they have now played every team above them twice.

"We have to face the teams below us now, the likes of Castleton twice and Ashton, who are second off the bottom, twice and Cheadle home and away as well.

"We have closed the gap on Colne who are in seventh spot but they have played more games than us. There are no easy games but we are hopeful."

Darwen have only lost one league clash since November - and that was against league leaders Stand - and were boosted by a 1-0 win over promotion-chasing Blackpool Mechanics on Wednesday.

"It was only our third clean sheet," admitted Wilkes.

Andy Walsh, suspended against Blackpool, will again sit out tomorrow's game while Matt Atkinson is a doubt.

"It was a luxury on Wednesday as I had 18 players to choose from and had to leave two or three out. It is a nice problem to have."
