PADIHAM boss Graham Howarth believes striker Lee Chambers will not play again this season.
The ace marksman has yet to play a game since rejoining the Arbories club from UniBond Division One side Kendal after fracturing an ankle and suffering ligament damage.
Howarth said: "Lee fractured his ankle and when he took the pot off three weeks ago we realised he had ankle ligament damage as well. It's worse than we thought and it now looks likely that we will have to do without him for the rest of the season."
Howarth admits they have missed last season's top scorer.
He said: "We showed again on Saturday against Chadderton that we missed Lee's ability to stick the ball in the net. We created a lot of chances but just could not score. Chadderton then went and scored a soft goal and we lost the game."
Padiham go to NWCL Division Two strugglers Daisy Hill tomorrow and Howarth is looking for all three points to help mount a strong finish.
"The best we can do is get as many points as possible," said Howarth. "But we are not going to do that if we play the same way as we did against Chadderton."
Centre half Carl Parker could miss out again having sat out the last two matches with an ankle injury.
