WHERE are me-owners? That's what Tigger, the mystery tabby cat, wants to find out.
The miserable moggy was found home alone in an empty house in Freckleton Street, Lytham, by a Fylde estate agent.
But so far concerned cat lovers have been unable to trace Tigger's owners.
When he was found the tabby and white male cat was wearing a black flea collar and disc showing his name and a Blackburn telephone number.
He was taken in by Blackpool's Cats Paws Sanctuary, but when volunteers rang the Blackburn number they found it had been disconnected.
Linda Davies, who is fostering Tigger for Cats Paws, said he is making good progress. But she said: "It's a shame. His owners could be looking for him.
"He's not a young cat. We think he's about eight, and if somebody has had him all those years you would think they wouldn't like to lose him."
She said Tigger may have got lost after moving to the area with his owners, or he might have got itchy tiger feet and travelled to Lytham accidentally in a car.
"Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks before owners realise their cat is missing," Linda said. "I can keep him for a little while, but I'm going to have to rehome him soon."
But despite the mystery surrounding his sudden appearance, Linda said Tigger appears to be "feline" fine. "He is very affectionate, and he is a good eater!" she added.
And she appealed for Tigger's owners, or anyone with information that could help trace them, to get in touch on 344396.
