THERE'S trouble in the Tory ranks with members of the Morecambe and Lunesdale Conservative Association arguing over the association's accounts.
In what's been described as a "clash of personalities," members are disputing which documents have been provided for the annual internal audit.
One member, who has audited the books for the March AGM, claims that details of income generated at fundraising events have not been forwarded to him.
But the member responsible for these documents claims they were offered for audit but were turned down.
The dispute has been fuelled by a letter circulated to all members and the scene is set for a stormy general meeting on March 16.
Chairman John Holland told the Citizen: "It's a storm in a tea cup, a clash of personalities that will be resolved at our AGM.
In auditing the accounts the auditor asked for certain additional documents to be made available and these have been produced.
In the meantime he has taken it upon himself to write a letter without the authorisation of the Chairman or meeting with the officers.
"There is no suggestion of financial malpractice.
This is an internal affair that will be dealt with by the association."
