CONCERNED residents are being urged to help the council tackle climate change in Bury.
Town hall bosses have drawn up their Climate Change Strategy, and want the public to read it and submit their views by March 22.
The plan tries to explain the vital environmental issues, outlines progress to date, and sets ambitious targets for the future.
While the local authority suggests how it will tackle greenhouse gas emissions, its policies are only expected to have a major impact if the whole community plays its part.
Councillor Julie Higson, executive member for environment and transport, said: "The strategy is a wide-ranging document, but at its core is the damage that greenhouse gas emissions are doing and what we believe needs to be done to cut those.
"There are no easy solutions and we are going to have to take some major decisions if we are to tackle this problem.
"We are seeking comments and we hope as many people as possible will have a look at the draft strategy and give us their views."
Copies of the draft are available at local libraries or Bury Town Hall reception. Alternatively, visit www.bury.gov.uk/bury/downloadablefiles/climatechangedraft or call Tim Jones on 253 6020.
