LOUISE, the eternal pop princess (if you'll excuse the pun) has some good news for all her fans in Blackburn when she appears at King George's Hall on Thursday.

"I want everyone to come along and just enjoy themselves," she says. "It really is a Greatest Hits tour, including stuff from the Eternal days, so there's plenty of old favourites for you to dance along to."

Indeed the only person who is not likely to be dancing too much is Louise herself.

"The show is very much me working with the band. There's no backing tracks and definitely no miming. It means I can't dance around as much but I can leave that to the audience."

So is this her way of getting back at the critics how often accuse pop acts of being unable to sustain a genuine live show?

"Yes, I suppose it is really," she says. "I just want to prove that I can get out there and do it live. I've got a wicked band with me and we've got a really good vibe going on this tour."

Amazingly it is 10 years since Louise first made the charts as a 17-year-old as a member of Eternal -- the band that paved the way for the likes of the Spice Girls and All Saints.

Since then a string of top 20 hits have followed including singles such as Naked, Let's Go Round Again and Stuck In The Middle With You and best selling albums including Woman in Me and Elbow Beach.

"On this tour we're doing 19 songs and with some of the older numbers we've brought them up to date a bit so there will be something for everyone," she says. "I've no problem revisiting songs from the old days. To me a good pop song is a song that people like and as a result is timeless."

In all Louise will play 36 dates, including Blackburn.

In spite of this hectic schedule which will take her all over the UK she seems very relaxed.

"After four nights I sounded a bit like Rod Stewart," she laughs, "but my voice is getting stronger as time goes on. I'm really enjoying this tour and we're getting a great response wherever we go."

And although touring all over the country, Louise still gets the chance to spend time with husband Jamie Redknapp, the Liverpool and England midfielder.

"I get a day off every four days so I can go home and Jamie comes to as many shows as he can so we spend as much time together as is possible," she says.

So what does the future hold for Louise once this current tour is over?

"I'll be getting back into the studio and starting work," she says. "I want to work with some great writers and producers to take my sound on again. I think there will be a whole new style from me. I have got to the stage where I want to move on. Really I'm just getting started musically and I'm looking forward to it."

So does that mean she's using the time spent travelling to gigs to write new material?

"I'm more likely to be sat at the back of the coach sleeping," she laughs. "This tour is a chance for the fans to come out and enjoy what I've done so far in my career."

It is four years since Louise last appeared at King George's Hall for a sell out show and with tickets selling fast, fans would be advised to book now to avoid missing out on what promises to be a night to remember.

"We all plan to have a good time in Blackburn and I think everyone coming along will too," says Louise.
