IF you were inspired by TV's Pop Idol and fancy a shot at fame, take the lead from the Fylde's own three dramatic talents, spotted by BBC Talent scouts last year.
Katey Siddall, aged 19, from Hilton Avenue, Ansdell, and 17-year-old identical twins Laura and Rebekah Mansfield, of Rossall Road, Ansdell, caught the eye of judges in the last year's nationwide BBC competition to find acting talent.
The three -- who are all former pupils of Lytham St Annes High School -- were among 30 people picked from more than 12,000 hopefuls who auditioned for the chance of a BBC contract. They are now looking forward to speaking parts in dramas such as EastEnders, Holby City and Casualty.
BBC Talent spokeswoman Robyn Smith said that the three girls went to a BBC workshop in London last week to learn tricks of the TV trade from the experts.
"They were given some tips on what happens at castings and what they should have in their resume, and did some workshop work with BBC directors," she said.
The girls have not been cast in any programmes as yet, but will be on the air at some stage this year: "It's just a case of finding the right roles for them. Katey has worked as a barmaid and said she would like to get behind the bar on the EastEnders set!"
And now it could be your turn! The third BBC Talent campaign is launched today (Thursday) and BBC talent scouts will be scouring the country to find new talent to nurture.
Head of BBC Talent, Angie Stephenson said: "The schemes are designed to give people their first break and encourage them to find their path in the creative business."
This year the search is on for talented individuals in areas which include:
CBBC TV presenters -- a one year TV presenter contract up for grabs.
Science experts to present on BBC One - Tomorrow's World viewers get to vote.
Urban musicians and vocalists across music of black origin.
Interactive presenters for BBCi.
Radio production trainees.
Urban comedy sketch team.
New film makers.
Sports reporters for BBC Sport.
Sitcom writers.
Young wildlife reporters.
New animators.
Stand up comedians and comedy sketch writers.
Programme developers.
Information on how to enter can be found on the BBC Talent website -- www.bbc.co.uk/talent, ceefax page 597 or in the BBC Talent brochure which will be available free of charge from all BBC Television centres and radio stations around the country, Virgin Megastores and Odeon Cinemas.
