GREAT Harwood boss Denis Underwood is hoping his side have the rub of the green when they travel to fellow NWCL Division One strugglers Atherton Collieries tomorrow.

Harwood have had just one penalty all season but seem to have them continually given against them.

"I just don't know why that is," said Underwood, following a 4-1 loss to leaders Prescot midweek. "A lot of them have been controversial to say the least.

"Prescot had two against us in midweek after we had kept it tight for 20 minutes and were leading, St Helens got one against us to put them ahead and against Fleetwood it was a dodgey decision that gave them a spot kick.

"It just seems that when you are down the luck doesn't go with you and some of the decisions have been frightening.

"The players work hard and look forward to a match then the referee spoils it for us and we get frustrated."

The frustration has made it even harder for Harwood as they have played a number of games with ten men - Andy Clarkson being sent off midweek for 'mouthing off.'

"He was furious with an off-side decision which led to their second goal," said Underwood. "We will probably get fined now for our lack of discipline as it was Andy's third sending off in ten games but it is just sheer frustration."

This aside Harwood are now desperate for a win tomorrow with just one victory in their last 21 League encounters.

"We have been playing okay but don't seem to get the breaks," said Underwood.

"We have played the top four home and away now so we have finished with them, now we have got to try and pick up points against those around us.

"And I have got to have a look at my side between now and the end of the month and asses my squad.

"I need a goalscorer, I know that but they aren't cheap and we haven't got the money.

"But we will continue plugging away and hopefully get the breaks."
