ONCE again, Bury Council have let down The Rock area traders and customers.

Yet again the fair has been allowed to take over The Rock car park, bringing nothing into the town and taking away valuable trade from the local shops and businesses, at a time when they are all working hard to maintain good customer relations and increase takings.

Year after year, the main car park is given over, apparently with no concern for the hard-working businesses which bring money into the town and who pay large rates. Car drivers have to compete with everyone else to park behind Wilkinson's or in other car parks. This situation limits the customers coming into Bury.

Why can't the fair be moved to the car parks opposite Asda where there is much more space for those who would wish to attend?

Although I realise the fair has a place in Bury, I do not feel that the businesses and their customers are being given enough consideration.

At the local elections I will remember matters like the fair and will vote accordingly. Perhaps others will follow suit and only then will the council see who really holds the power in Bury.

UNHAPPY RESIDENT
