INSTEAD of bidding for city status, why doesn't Blackburn Council put a bid in for the next Winter Olympic Games?
The ungritted roads could be used for the bobsleigh and skiing events and we've got a nice Olympic ice arena for all the other stuff.
The people of Blackburn are so used to slipping all over the place, we'd rake the gold medals in!
